Cookies and local storage
DUEL currently uses storage for the requested game and access. The pilot has no advertising cookies or analytics scripts, so an “Accept all” banner is not needed.

What is stored
A session cookie lets the local test service recognise a signed-in account. Local storage holds the game profile, history and current game, learning progress and selected settings. These technologies perform different tasks and do not create an advertising profile.
When accounts are enabled, the duel_session cookie is necessary for API access; in the current local test it lasts for up to 7 days or until sign-out or account deletion. The cookie is unavailable to page JavaScript. Accounts are disabled in the public pilot, so registration on the site does not create such a session.
Entering a guest online room creates the necessary __Host-duel_guest cookie: up to 7 days, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict. It verifies the player’s seat on reconnection. Local storage holds only the link to the last room; the cookie is unavailable to JavaScript. Clearing site data removes access from the device, while the server room expires under the privacy policy’s retention periods.
A new local guest session does not save the profile or position between reloads. Settings, account caches and old profiles from earlier versions may remain in the browser without automatic expiry. Old copies of previous states are not deleted automatically. Cached account information and a sign-out marker help restore interface state.
Optional technologies
The current version has no advertising pixels, behavioural analytics or third-party social sign-in scripts connected. There is no switch that secretly enables tracking, and no preselected consent.
If such technologies appear, their purposes, providers and retention periods will be disclosed before activation. Where consent is needed, declining will be available on equal terms with acceptance, categories separately and withdrawal just as easily. Optional scripts must not load before a choice is made.
Managing data
Theme, sound, animation and coordinates can be changed in game settings. Signing out ends access on the device but does not by itself delete history or the account. A separate page is provided for account deletion.
You can delete local progress through browser settings: open site data, select duel64.com and delete its data. This may delete that site’s guest and local profiles, current game and settings. Before deleting, note that restoration without a separate copy is impossible.
Blocking necessary storage may prevent continuation of a game and sign-in. Technical requests to Cloudflare occur when the site is opened regardless of local storage; they are described in the privacy policy.
Your privacy
Only what is needed for the features you choose.
There is no “Accept all” button for necessary data. Clearing site data may remove device preferences, local caches and records from earlier versions. Server account progress is deleted through a separate form. Technical hosting requests are described in the policy.
